Long Term Care (LTC) provides the financial support you need if you have to pay for care assistance yourself or a loved one. LTC insurance can cover the cost of assistance for those who need help to perform the basic activities of daily living, these include:
Government state benefits can provide some help, but may not be enough or may not pay the full cost of long term care.
The level of state support you will receive depends on where you live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland.
The UK Government are in the process of changing how long term care is funded. Changes are expected to be in place as of April 2016.
